I cannot even begin to put into words how special this weekend was.............lots of good memories were made!!
I took lots of pictures and hopefully you can see ,through the pictures the fun we had.
My "boys" picked me up from work on Thursday and off we headed to Chicago!
The trip was focused around Eric and preparations for him to serve his mission.
The family came trickling in..........first Melissa, Kayla and Trevor made the six hour drive and arrived later Thursday night.
Friday we did a few fun family things like:

ke rides..........shooting a rocket up in the air.........Melissa, Kayla, Trevor,Cameron and Braden went to a water park Friday afternoon and enjoyed the sun, water and had a FUN time.
James, Tam, Meghan and I went shopping for the "missionary wardrobe!
Doesn't seem like a major job does it??.....well, it was! So much to
do and so many decisions to make
!We had to look long and hard to find "short sleeve" white shirts! seems like an easy task but not with "point collars" We walked Oak Brook Mall..... finally we found TWO and they put locator's out to their other stores and they will be sent out from several different ones....to make up the 12 white shirts he needs!!
Eric had many choices and decisions to make......... but he was measured, fitted and sized up then made the decision of the two suits needed for his mission.
Ties...... so many to choose from... colors, designs..... all there for the "picking"
Tam is an excellent "tie picker outer"... (sorry, Tam I just had to put your name in my blog "one more time!).......... so she went to town throughout that section and came up some choices for Eric and they were all 100% winners for Eric!!
NEXT:.............was the belts..........there were so many to choose from but a decision was made..........
then there were the shoes.............they had to find "shoes that
were made for WALKING"
This is about the time Meghan and I decided to split........and we went to look at "girl things"!
That was fun...... we came back to the "mens department" and they still there...........SHOPPING! once we finished with that store we had to stop
A little rest and a little nourishment.........and we continued on!
We arrived home at 9:00 PM and the group that went to the water park wondered how we could have shopped for so long! Amanda and Ben arrived to join in the FUN!
Eric gave them a "fashion show" and I think they were still wondering what took us so long!..........
It was well worth the "time and energy".......... look at this "soon to be missionary!!
He even decided to try out the NEW scriptures and back pack he received. He felt complete so he gave Trevor the "first discussion"! Trevor how did Uncle Eric do???

Sounds like you had a full but yet FUN weekend! He looks like he is set and he will be such a GREAT missionary!
