March 22, 2011 my mother will celebrate her 93rd birthday! The family is getting together today to celebrate. I wish I could be there but hopefully they will feel me in "spirit"!
I have lots of memories growing up. We would walk down town from our home and "look" in the stores then we would stop by an ice cream shoppe in the square and get an ice cream cone to eat on our way home. We would go to church each Sunday and mother was the primary president for YEARS! She cooked wonderful meals and was always serving other people!
As we grew up and had our own children she took on the role as Grandmother with great enthusiasm!

She would ride her bicycle with the older children out to Lincoln Park, She played Boggle with them and was very good at it! She made french toast that the children LOVED and as hard as I tried I could never get it quite like hers! Melissa loved her fried chicken and try as I might I could never duplicate it. The grandchildren grew up and have started having children of their own and she is still very much a part of their lives!
