Knee deep into the Old testament and just finished Judges. Thought a lot about Deborah and Barak and their friendship. Deborah was a righteous friend. I reflected on my friends. Much gratitude for friends who have crossed my path and made a lasting impression upon my heart.
So what are the things I have been thinking?????
This is one of three plants I planted in my front area about 2 years ago. I worked hard to pull out a bunch of vines that were growing in this area and going up my house. It took LOTS of work but with Eric, Cameron and myself we were able to pull out all the vines and then had to find somethings to plant. The three of us went off to Lowe"s and tried to figure out what to plant! We had "limited funds" and needed something that would grow well with mostly shade. It was really funny and it plays out in my brain as if it were just happening. We would find something we liked then realize it needed FULL SUN or MOSTLY SUN. We found only a few with full shade but came up with this plant: "chocolate chip plant". It fit all the needs so we bought three of them and planted. They were so tiny and SLOWLY grew! This was the first year that beautiful purple flowers came to bloom. (don't you think chocolate chip would be something other than purple flowers????) I have to admit it appealed to me on the name only!! When I took a picture of this plant I sent it to Elder Zinn and reminded him of this event that transpired just before he left for his mission and look how it had bloomed. I have seen such tremendous growth from Elder Zinn as he has been and continues to be nourished from his mission experience.
NEXT THOUGHT:

I received this "edible" flower/fruit basket for Mothers day and I have to tell you how much fun it was to "eat" that gift! :) When I answered the door and saw it I thought that I would never be able to eat all of that before it went bad.....but guess what??? I DID! It was fun to feel like eating a piece of fruit and go to my refrigerator and grab one. Around the fruit was some kind of lettuce that was quite corse and firm. I looked at the bucket, all the fruit gone and thought....."that would make a perfect centerpiece for my Fun Friday which was Salad Day! See what I did with it?!
It was perfect for my salad theme......I just added some flowers to the lettuce base and it was recycled. I just love things that are wonderful and good and then you can carry that over and use it for something else! :)
I did make home made croutons and you would have thought I spent hours/days doing this when in reality it was so simple.

Of course there is more: "this and that" going on in my brain.....
like creating on my cricket
thinking of memorial weekend with family
thinking of Ohio and Owen's blessing
thinking of our family vacation in July and working on projects for that week with my grandchildren!
thinking of Elder Zinn return in August
THINKING.......THINKING......THINKING and guess what.....those thoughts all have ONE common thread: FAMILY! How I LOVE my family and the times we have together!
EIGHT (plus) IS ENOUGH TO FILL MY HEART WITH LOVE!
