ONE WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have had Kayla and Trevor for ONE WEEK!
Lots of fun, interesting and hard things. My hat goes off to working mothers!! It is certainly not an easy task. When I get up in the morning for work I am use to getting ready at a certain pace and now there is lots of other things to do!!
Trevor wants his chocolate milk when he gets up!! Then there is breakfast.... As I was carrying laundry down stairs this evening Trevor looked at me and said: "Grandma!! that is a lot of laundry! He was right!!
FUN FRIDAY was a big success but NO PICTURES :( Just too busy trying to get the food prepared for today. I pick themes each week and this week was honoring our high school graduates. I made a poster with all their pictures and plans. I had meat balls, relish tray and "sweets" including a graduation cake. It is certainly having a positive affect on people and I am excited to be a part of this.

I only worked a half day today and I told the kids we would do something when I got home. I no more walked in the door and they said "lets go to the park"! They could do that every day I think. They just like to go and play and run and meet people every day. I had something else in mind but did not tell them. We had lunch........and off we went:

TO THE ZOO!!!

The following pictures tell the story for today! Sorry, I wish I knew how to do the slide show like Amanda did on her blog......(maybe you can teach me when you come next week!?) you will just have to scroll down......... I barely learned how to get regular pictures here! :)

Trevor with the horse he picked out to ride!!

Kayla picking out her horse!!

The difference from Kayla and Trevor! Kayla is petting and loving.... Trevor is chasing

Can you feel their excitement!

We could not leave the zoo without a ice cream cone. We went inside this screen porch to eat it and this is how the conversation went:

Trevor: "I need an ice cream cone! I want Chocolate"!
Grandma Barb "Trevor they only have vanilla"
Trevor: "I want VANILLA"! I want ICE CREAM"
They get their cones and we sit down:
Trevor: "My mom taught me how to eat ice cream Grandma Barb"
"she taught me to lick like this"............... then the conversation went from Trevor to Kayla and how much her mother teaches her!
I "THINK" they are having fun and a good time but they definitely miss their parents. Kayla told me today while we were eating ice cream she would be sad to leave me but she HAD TO GO HOME when her parents come next week!~ They are LOVED by many...... but nothing is so wonderful as a mother's and dad's love!
THANK YOU Melissa and Ryan for sharing your children with us! It is good for Uncle Cameron who has not experienced younger siblings like the rest of you!!
