MELISSA ZINN LOUGH

determined
from an early age.....

I just spent the weekend at Melissa & Ryan Lough's home! On the way home today I thought a lot about Melissa the child.  I went to a Parent Teacher Conference for her when she was in kindergarten.  Her teacher said to me:  "Melissa is a LEADER in class"  She finishes her work then goes off to help others.
Later when she was in 5th grade and I went to her conference once again.  The teacher said to me: "Melissa has a LOT of determination.  IF you can channel this in the RIGHT direction she will GO FAR BUT if you do not SHE WILL be headed for TROUBLE!
I thought about those two comments on my drive home.
Melissa has certainly shown where her  "D E T E R M I N A T I O N" was channeled.
It was such a wonderful weekend to  celebration Melissa's accomplishments!

Melissa worked as a CNA in Cincinnati Children's Hospital and then when she moved to Vincennes Indiana.  It was while working at this job she decided she wanted to be an Register Nurse so she went to school.  When she started school she had a husband who was also Bishop and two children.  She continued to work as a CNA and go to school to become an RN.  When she was about to start her final year of nursing school she found out she was pregnant.  She was determined that was not going to put her schooling on hold.  She continued to do everything including her school.  She graduated the end of April 2011 with a baby 8 weeks old.

This is that baby she carried through her last year of nursing school
now two years old!

Melissa felt like she needed a Bachelors degree with her nursing so she took a full time job as an RN and continued school for her degree.  H A R D....... I only know it from a outside perspective.  I cannot imagine all that she had to do to reach the point of events that transpired this weekend.

to reach this point of graduating
cum laude
has taken a LOT of work; energy and I am sure
digging DEEP within to make it happen!

It was not just about MELISSA but it was about her ENTIRE family
she balanced it all........

I am sure Melissa would be the first to tell you that she
could not have done these things without her helpmate
RYAN J. LOUGH
The two of them DIVIDED and CONQUERED
t make this day happen
they work well together and are a great team!

All in all it was such a beautiful weekend!
As we sat down for a celebration family dinner Friday night there was an envelope
by each one of our plates
we were asked to open them at the SAME TIME
The announcement was made that a new
baby would arrive in their family the
first of November
I could not be more proud of Melissa & Ryan
I am so GRATEFUL
that Melissa channeled that DETERMINATION
in the direction she did

I love Melissa & I am so proud of her
it has been a special weekend for me

CONGRATULATIONS
