Today I had a humbling experience. Some Target Team members went to the Rescue Mission and handed out water. Before we began our "service" they gave us a tour of the place. It is a shelter for many who are homeless, wandering and need a place to sleep and food to eat. It is a great source of strength to the community.
Jerilyn and Landen were the first to arrive then I came and got in her van while we waited for Sameen. People were lined up outside waiting for lunch to be served. There were many men, some families, a mother with her baby, children with their parents. They all seemed happy to have the meal and then in the end the water. These people were grateful for the lunch and I had to reflect on MY life and how grateful I am for all that I have in my life!
The most important to me is my family and I wondered if these people had extended family to turn to?????
We went to the chapel where they have daily devotional to learn about putting God in their life. I thought about how important my relationship is with my Heavenly Father.... How could I get through the things in life without that relationship? My family, my religion, my relationship with Father is so IMPORTANT to me. It has made all the difference in my life!
OK......so it was NOT all serious.....we had fun being together and we needed to make sure our water was Target "BRAND" (if you do not work at Target it would not be as funny! :) so Sameen made the water into a Target Bull-eye! :) I am glad I went, glad for the experience and glad for the reminder of my blessings in life! It was fun to be together with fellow team members and enjoy the time together outside of the work environment.
It also gave me a moment to reflect on how GRATEFUL I am for......
EIGHT (plus) IS ENOUGH TO FILL MY HEART WITH LOVE!
