Owen Lee Goates
born 4-13-10
I was busy working monday in the office when my phone went off and I saw it was from Amanda so I just took the call with no thought that I was at work and NEVER take personal calls on my phone. I knew that this new grand baby was CLOSE to entering the world so I could not delay taking the call. Amanda told me they were going to induce to hopefully bring this child into the world. It did not turn out like they planned but Owen Lee arrived after an emergency C-section. He came.....not the way his parents had planned but any way you look at it he is HERE upon this earth and has already captured Grandma Barb's heart!

There is only total joy and happiness here. Now I have EIGHT grandchildren to LOVE! What more could a grandmother want?
NO, I am NOT posting pictures to show off ME but to let you know what I did every day while I was in Columbus with Amanda and Ben. I had to give him back though and it was sad. It was totally wonderful and exciting to hold Owen every day. I could hardly wait to get to the hospital and put him in my arms! I would not be selfish though and I would share........

It was hard to leave but it was time for me to return home. I was so happy to be a part of this week and the first few days of Owen's life. I am amazed and impressed with them. Ben is such an amazing husband and father. Amanda, well I wondered "when" that little girl that was told in a blessing she would always bring joy to her mother grew up and became a mother herself. I sat in the rocker in the hospital and thought how quickly she grew up and married prince charming and became a mother! I am grateful for all these blessings in my life. My heart overflows!!
So this week brought a new grandson into our midsts but it is also the celebration of Clara Zinn's 7th birthday! She is the grand daughter who lives in California and I do not get to see as often as the others. BUT: she is LOVED so much by Grandma Barb! I hope you had a wonderful 7th birthday Clara. Know how much Grandma Barb LOVES YOU!

Clara is capable of doing just about ANYTHING. Happy Birthday sweet Clara!
I am so humbly grateful for everything I have in my life and the most important is my family for they mean everything to me!

Grandma Barb; I really like the blog! It was fun to see my pictures. And I forgot to say thank you for the book! From Clara
thanks. We think he's pretty darn amazing. Thanks for coming to see him!
Great pictures Barb. I would have like a little piece of that myself. Thanks for being there to help them out.
It is hard to be a long distance grandma...I know you understand.
