Happy, Happy Birthday Kayla

10 years old today! :)

Today, Wednesday,  October 24th  Kayla celebrates her 10th birthday!

I  find it hard to know where to begin with my thoughts on Kayla!

She was born on  a beautiful, sunny October day.  The very next day I drove (with Amanda) to see this tiny baby who was born early.  YES, she was tiny but she was MIGHTY and nothing has changed through her ten years! TINY & MIGHTY!

I was looking through my pictures for this post and each picture had a special memory attached to it ! 

Kayla and Trevor spent many vacations and breaks at our house.  We always tried to do things while they were here and create special memories.  I am unsure if Kayla remembers them but I certainly do.

It was over St. Patricks Day so we did a day filled with GREEN!

Whenever they came to visit me we would go to the park and feed the ducks!

The Zoo has been another favorite place of Kayla's to go.  And if YOU KNOW Kayla you KNOW she loves ANIMALS!..... all kinds and when we went to the zoo she never wanted to leave the "hands on" petting zoo!

You can almost see her grow up from a "little girl" to beautiful young girl!

When they came to visit, we  would go to the park.  They loved each of the parks we visited.  Each day they would choose a different park to visit.  Kayla loves adventure and just being out playing!

Kayla loves ALL of her FAMILY......and it is always a tearful good bye when she leaves.  I am always sad to say good bye to her because I see her heart hurting when she has to tell family "good bye"!

This past summer Kayla and Trevor were at my house and Melissa text me that Kayla's dog Mikey was hit by a car and was not doing well.  I was with her when her mom and dad skyped her to let her know that Mikey did not make it.  That little girl sobbed and sobbed not only during the day but most of the night.  It was so sad to watch her hurt and no matter what I said it did not take the hurt away.  I found myself crying because of her pain..... no one wants to see another person hurt so much especially since that person was my grand daughter

Nothing can be replaced and be the same but their family started saving and saving and talking about the dog they would get in the future and last month that dream came true.  One little girls heart had mended!

It is emotional for me to think of the past ten years and I cannot imagine my life without Kayla.  the next ten years will be filled with more exciting "firsts" in her life and I pray I will be a part of them.

Kayla embraces life with a zest that you feel and see when you spend some time with her.  You talk to her for just a few minutes and you will find out how much she knows about animals....all kinds of animals and they are ALL important to her! Kayla is quite talented in the field of music (this is from her piano teacher) and finds joy in music.  She loves her family, she loves her friends, and yes she loves her animals.  Sometimes I think she can talk to them like Dr. Doolittle!!  She is passionate about  many things and most of all she wears her heart on her sleeve.
